Privacy policy

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and follows no one. The enquiry form sends nothing to us: it opens a draft in WhatsApp or in your own email program, and nothing reaches us until you press send there.

We use what you send us to answer you and, if we work together, to run your project. We never sell it and never use it for marketing.

The controller of your personal data is the company behind this site. Lasmari Developments is a trading name of [registered company name: to be added], a private company (Ιδιωτική Κεφαλαιουχική Εταιρεία, Ι.Κ.Ε.) registered in the Greek General Commercial Registry (Γ.Ε.ΜΗ.) under number [GEMI number: to be added], VAT number [VAT number: to be added], with its registered seat at [registered seat: to be added]. Write to contact@lasmari.gr about anything in this policy. We have not appointed a data protection officer, because the law does not require one for a company of our kind.

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. To deliver each page and protect the site from attack, Vercel's servers process the technical details every browser sends: your IP address, the type of browser and device, the page you asked for and the time. We do not use them to identify you, to build a profile or to count visitors.

Our basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). Vercel keeps request logs briefly for operation and security, and also processes some of this data for its own security purposes under its privacy notice at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Whether you write by WhatsApp or email, or call, we receive what you choose to tell us: usually your name, how to reach you, where the plot is, what you want to build, a budget range and your message. Your name, the plot location and the kind of work are what we need to give you a useful answer. Everything else is optional.

Our basis is taking the steps you ask for before a possible contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)). Messages that are not about a project, for example from suppliers or people looking for work, we handle on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering them (art. 6(1)(f)).

We keep the contract, drawings, specifications, correspondence, photographs of the works and invoices. We need them to carry out the contract (art. 6(1)(b)). Greek tax and accounting law obliges us to keep invoices and records (art. 6(1)(c)). We keep the project file to be able to answer any claim about the works (art. 6(1)(f)).

If you choose WhatsApp, the form puts your draft into a link to WhatsApp. In Europe WhatsApp is operated by WhatsApp Ireland Limited, part of Meta, and it receives the draft as soon as WhatsApp opens, before you decide whether to send it. WhatsApp handles your use of its service as an independent controller under its own privacy policy at whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy-eea. Once you send the message, we are responsible for the copy we receive.

If you choose email, the draft opens in your own email program and nothing leaves your device until you send it. Our mailbox is hosted by [email provider: to be added], which processes messages on our behalf as our processor.

Only those who need it: our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) and our email provider, as processors acting on our instructions; our accountant and lawyers; the engineers and trades on your project once it goes ahead, and only what their part requires; and public authorities where the law requires it, for example the tax authority or a court. We do not sell personal data and do not share it for marketing.

Vercel Inc. is based in the United States. The transfer relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Vercel is certified, with the Standard Contractual Clauses in Vercel's data processing agreement as a fallback. WhatsApp's own transfers are governed by its terms.

Enquiries that do not lead to a contract: 12 months after our last exchange, then deleted, sooner if you ask.

Accounting and tax records: as long as Greek tax law requires, which is at least five years from the end of the year they relate to, and longer while a tax audit or case is open.

Contract and project files: ten years from acceptance of the works, the period in which claims for defects in a building can be brought under the Greek Civil Code (art. 693), plus up to one more year to deal with a claim made near the end of it. Longer only while a claim is pending.

Copies in WhatsApp, in our mailbox and in their backups follow the same periods.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it and to receive it in a portable form, and you can object to any use based on our legitimate interests. Write to contact@lasmari.gr. We answer within one month and may first ask you to confirm who you are. Some records we must keep by law even if you ask us to delete them; if so, we will tell you which and why.

If you think we have handled your data wrongly, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You can also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, Kifisias 1-3, 115 23 Athens, Greece, telephone +30 210 6475600, www.dpa.gr (from abroad, in English, to complaints@dpa.gr), or to the data protection authority of the EU country where you live or work.

We make no automated decisions about you and build no profiles. The site runs over an encrypted connection and stores nothing you type into the form. We limit access to enquiries to the people who answer them.

This site and our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date below before the change takes effect.
